About Aubenord
Built from Loui's IVDD journey.
Created to make yours easier.
Aubenord is an independent resource for dog owners navigating intervertebral disc disease, from the first frightening signs through diagnosis, treatment, recovery and life beyond.

Our Story
The night everything changed.
Our film tells the story behind Aubenord and why we believe every dog deserves the best possible chance at recovery.
Loui's journey inspired Aubenord. We hope it helps other dogs and families navigate theirs.
The Family Behind Aubenord
London, UK
Aubenord is personal. It grew from our experience caring for Loui and trying to make sense of IVDD when everything suddenly felt unfamiliar.
Why Aubenord Exists
We built the resource we wished we had.
We brought Loui home when he was around three months old and fell in love with his little face almost immediately. He has always had a huge personality: playful, gentle, incredibly smart and, before IVDD, very committed to his daily zoomies.
Then one evening, a simple jump from the sofa changed everything.
Around four years ago, everything changed.
Loui jumped down from the sofa and made a sound that immediately told us something was wrong. Within a short space of time he began panting heavily, and we found ourselves urgently searching for an out-of-hours veterinary service.
It was one of the most frightening nights we had experienced with him. What made it harder was not knowing what to do next.
What We Couldn't Find Quickly Enough
Almost overnight, we were learning unfamiliar medical terminology, finding specialists, making difficult treatment decisions and working out how to care for him safely at home.
The information existed, but it was scattered across veterinary websites, forums, social groups, research articles and product pages. At the exact moment we needed clarity most, finding reliable and practical answers took far too much time.
That experience became the reason Aubenord exists today.
We created Aubenord to bring the information we wished we had into one place: clear explanations, specialist directories, recovery guidance, practical resources and carefully considered recommendations.
The heart of it is still Loui. His experience changed our lives, and Aubenord grew from our determination to help other owners feel better informed and better prepared when they suddenly face the same uncertainty.

“No owner should feel alone, lost or unprepared when their dog is facing IVDD.”

Important: Aubenord provides general educational information and practical resources. It does not provide veterinary diagnosis or treatment and is not a substitute for advice from a qualified veterinary professional. If your dog is in pain, weak, unable to walk or showing sudden neurological symptoms, contact a veterinary professional urgently. Aubenord is independent and does not represent the clinics, organisations or professionals listed on this website. Our editorial approach: Aubenord combines lived experience caring for Loui with carefully researched, publicly available veterinary and practical information.
