Is the space right for the rest plan?
Your dog needs enough room for comfortable resting positions and safe handling without turning the crate into a pacing area.

Can accidents be cleaned quickly?
A removable tray and washable bedding system make everyday urine or bowel accidents much easier to reset.

Will the crate stay stable?
Check the frame, latches and floor position so the crate remains secure and does not slide or rock during daily use.

There is no universal 42-inch IVDD rule. Measure your dog, check the available floor space and think about how you will safely reach them. The crate should allow the resting positions and handling your veterinary team wants while still limiting unnecessary pacing, jumping or repeated movement.

A larger crate is not automatically better. The right amount of space depends on your dog and the veterinary restriction plan, so choose access and usable layout rather than simply buying the biggest size.
