FurDreams 42" Folding Dog Crate | Loui’s Recovery Setup
A 42-inch dual-door folding crate we bought for Loui after learning that a smaller crate made lifting, bedding changes and everyday care harder. The extra working room and two access points made careful handling easier without turning the crate into a play space.

Why we trust it
Used by Loui as our second recovery crate. Our first crate was smaller but much harder to manoeuvre around him, especially when lifting or guiding him in and out after IVDD. The larger interior, two useful door positions, sturdy frame and easy-clean tray have made this setup significantly easier for us to manage.
What stands out
Enough room for safe care, not for roaming
Approx. 107 × 69 × 77 cm and around 13.8 kg. Choose a crate that fits your dog and the amount of movement their veterinary team allows, but also check that you have enough practical access to support them in and out safely. Bigger is not automatically better during strict rest; usable handling space and door position matter too.

Why this earns a place on Aubenord
We recommend it because the layout solved a real care problem for us: two doors let us use the safer access point, while the extra working room made lifting, toileting and bedding changes less awkward. Crate size should still follow your veterinary team’s movement plan.
What to check before buying
Before you order
- Choose size around both your dog’s body and the movement their veterinary team allows
- Check which door gives you the safest handling route in the actual room
- Do not move or drag the crate with your dog inside
- Keep bedding flat and stable rather than filling the crate with bulky layers
- Consider a waterproof liner, suitable mattress and washable blankets as part of the complete setup
- Inspect the tray, frame and latches regularly
