When an accident soaks through, changing the bedding is only half the clean-up. Drymate adds a thin, washable waterproof layer to protect the crate tray or floor below. Trim it to fit the space and place suitable comfort bedding above it.

Layer from waterproof to washable
From the bottom up: crate tray or floor, protective liner, then suitable comfort bedding. Protection needed for the mattress itself must sit above it, beneath a comfortable washable top layer.

Reset, do not rebuild
Remove the dirty top layer, clean the affected area and replace it with a clean spare rather than stripping the whole setup every time.

Protect the floor under the crate
On wooden floors, a flat protective layer beneath the crate can help reduce scratches when the crate moves between rooms.

Build the crate so one accident is a quick reset
Measure the base you want to protect and trim the liner to lie flat, without folds or curled edges. Put stable comfort bedding above it and an easily changed washable layer on top. A liner below a mattress protects the crate or floor beneath; it cannot prevent an accident soaking into that mattress from above. Wash each layer according to its own label and let it dry fully before rebuilding the bed.
