We put these on Loui’s back paws every time he uses his wheelchair. His paws can brush against the ground, and the boots provide a protective layer to help prevent scratches and scrapes. For us, they’re an essential part of getting him ready for an outing.

Will the shape fit?
The boot has a relatively square shape. Long, narrow paws may need another design even when the width matches.

Wet-weather use?
The mesh upper is breathable rather than waterproof. Choose dedicated waterproof footwear if keeping water out is the priority.

Using a wheelchair?
Check clearance around wheels and straps, and keep any prescribed foot supports in place.
FIT, USE & SAFETY
Measure the paw, then choose the size
Measure width at the widest point and length to the end of the longest nail. Where safe, measure with weight on the paw; ask your veterinary team for help if your dog cannot stand safely. Use Zoomadog’s paw-width chart below for the supplied boots. Trixie’s separate guide shows inside boot widths, so the two sets of numbers are not interchangeable. Confirm length and any boundary fit with Zoomadog.

Why the manufacturer chart looks different
*These are Zoomadog’s published paw widths. Trixie labels its separate chart as inner boot measurements for articles 19460–19467: XS 3.6, XS–S 4.5, S–M 5, M 5.5, M–L 6, L 6.5, L–XL 7 and XL 8.5 cm. Inside boot width is not the same as a retailer’s recommended paw width. Send Zoomadog both paw measurements to confirm the supplied size, particularly at a boundary; neither chart supplies a separate paw-length limit.

Why we like it
These are part of getting Loui ready for every wheelchair outing: a protective layer around his back paws, with straps we can adjust individually.
What to know
A boot protects the foot but cannot correct knuckling or lift a dragging leg. A sore paw needs veterinary advice before you cover it.
Who it may suit
Dogs needing protection on rough ground, including those whose front or rear paws occasionally scuff during supported movement or wheelchair outings.

We keep returning to these for Loui’s wheelchair outings because paw protection is part of our routine. The pair quantity and adjustable straps are practical; the mesh upper still has limits when a paw drags continuously. Measure both paws and settle the sizing questions above before choosing.
